Distribution Definitions

On this page:

Menu Path:  Billing & Receipts, then Reference Tables, then Miscellaneous Billing, then Distribution Definitions

Predefined distribution information determines how revenues are to be distributed by a percentage if an item's revenue is to be split between two or more accounts by a percentage of the revenue.

Defining distributions speeds up invoicing since the relevant information defaults when a user selects a distribution type for an item on an invoice. During invoice entry, users can to override this default distribution information if needed. The combination of Revenue Organization and Account must exist as a Revenue Ledger or Expense Ledger Account. This is also true for the Fund and AR Account, and the Tax Fund and Tax Account, if applicable.

If you have more than one distribution line, the total distribution must equal 100 percent.
