Add Activity Records
Use the Add Employee Activity page to create a new activity record for an employee.
Menu Path
From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Activity Tracker menu, select Track Activities.
Create a New Activity Record for an Employee
As an alternative to step 1, you can display the Activity page from the Employee Information page by clicking Personnel Information on the Action Bar and then selecting Activity Tracker.
On the Personnel Activity Tracker page, click Add New to display the Add Employee Activity page.
In the Employee Number field, enter the employee's ID.
In the Situation Type field, select an activity record from the Situation Type table.
Complete the remaining fields in the Activity Information section, then press <Tab> to access the Activity Detail section.
Complete the Activity Detail section's user-defined fields.
Click OK to save the record.
The system does not prevent you from entering two or more records for the same situation type, date range, and employee.
Fields and Descriptions
Activity Information Section
Field | Description |
---|---|
Employee Number | Enter the employee's ID number. |
Situation Type | Select a code from the Situation Type table that identifies the activity. |
Start Date (required) | Date the activity began. If a situation does not have a Start Date, you may use today’s date and change it later to indicate when the record was updated. |
Stop Date | Enter the date the activity ended. If the activity does not have an end date, leave the field blank. The Start Date and Stop Date may be the same, for example, in a Leave Without Pay record where the employee was absent for one day. |
Description (recommended) | Brief description of the activity. The limit is 25 characters. |
Activity Detail Section
Lists fields that are associated with the Situation Type selected. The fields display after you select a code in the Situation Type field and press <Tab>. The system displays a message with each field indicating the type of data that can be entered.
