Position Requisitions

Use the Position Requisitions page to create, search, and manage requests to fill open or new positions. The page supports the full requisition lifecycle, from initial submission through workflow-based approval. Specifically, it allows you to:

  • Submit a requisition for a position vacancy, specifying the job class, position, shift type (Full Time/Part Time), and the reason the position needs to be filled (Replacement, New, or Transfer).

  • Identify the hiring manager, the employee being replaced, and a tentative start date.

  • Set internal and external posting dates and closing dates to control when the position is advertised.

  • Specify a salary range (minimum and maximum) and the requested FTE.

  • Enter notes to HR and a justification for the requisition.

  • Track the requisition status through a workflow approval process.

  • Monitor posted and filled FTE as the requisition progresses; this feeds into position control FTE calculations on the Position Control page.

From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Position menu, select Position Requisitions.

Work with Position Requisitions

  • On the Position Requisitions page, select Filter Results and enter or select the filter criteria. Select Apply Filters.

    • To view a requisition, select the Requisition ID.

    • To view the approval status, select the ellipsis in the Action column and then select Approval Status.

    • To cancel a requisition, select the ellipsis in the Action column and then select Cancel Requisition. Select Cancel Requisition. If the requisition was previously posted to an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), canceling the requisition decrements the Posted FTE on the associated position.

    • To delete a canceled requisition, select the ellipsis in the Action column and then select Delete Requisition.

    • To create a position requisition, select Create Position Requisition. Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information in the required fields. Select Submit Requisition.
