Social Security Detail

Use this option to generate a report on employees' FICA and Medicare gross wages and tax withholdings.

Menu Path

From the Human Resources menu, select Reports. From the Payroll menu, select Social Security Detail.

Report Data

The Social Security Detail report provides a breakdown of FICA and Medicare wages and deductions per payroll. The report is sorted by Social Security number and pay check date. Its data includes:

  • Employee names and Social Security numbers.

  • Check dates from one or more pay runs.

  • Gross wage and deduction amounts for both FICA and Medicare.

  • Totals per employee and grand totals for all employees listed.

The page's Social Security field is only available for users with the proper security resources. In addition, the display of employees' Social Security numbers in the report is determined by the user's security and the SSN Masking Method selected in the Human Resources profile.

Generate the Social Security Detail report

  1. On the Social Security Detail page, in the Report Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to include, and then click Accept. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button.

  2. In the Print window, specify how to generate the report, and then click OK. The report's default file name is ssdetail.rpt.

Fields and Descriptions

Report Criteria Section

We recommend that you use one or more fields to limit the report to certain employees or pay periods. If you leave all fields blank, the report will include all pay checks in your database.

Description

Check Date

The date a check was issued through either payroll processing or manual entry. Leave the field blank to include all checks in your search. To specify a range of dates, separate the range's earliest and latest dates with a colon; for example, 10012017:10312017 limits the report to checks issued in October 2017.

Employee Number

Employee ID numbers. For a listing of all employees affected, leave this field blank. To produce a report on selected employees, use the pipe symbol to separate employee numbers; for example, 14823|21384|19565.

Employee Last Name

The employee's last name.

Employee First Name

The employee's first name.

Employee's SSN

The employee's Social Security Number. To include more than one SSN in your search, use the pipe symbol between each number, for example, .
