Vendor Punchout - System Features
VPO incorporates numerous features that enable your organization's users to connect to a vendor's shopping site, select items, create requisitions, convert the requisitions into purchasing orders, and then forward the orders to vendors.
Features
Following are the basic features of VPO:
Allows your organization to define administrators, customize messages, and configure URLs.
Enables your organization to set up details for defining users and enabling them to connect to vendors' online shopping websites.
Allows authorized users to access VPO using either a URL provided by your organization or an Action Bar item in the Requisition Listing page in PowerSchool ERP.
Relies on your organization's existing Vendor List for defining information for vendors who participate in VPO. This information can be modified in VPO without affecting the vendor's Vendor List record.
Allows items selected from a vendor's shopping site to be submitted as requisitions in PowerSchool ERP and then converted into purchase orders.
Automatically searches for VPO orders that have been converted to purchase orders and electronically sends them to the vendors for fulfillment.
Enables your organization to configure VPO for running in live and test environments. The live environment is used for purchasing, while the test environment enables you to train users.
The VPO page load process detects if a user does not have an email address on their employee record. VPO requires an email address to be populated on the employee record for VPO users so that the value can be supplied to vendors. If the email address is missing from the employee record, a message instructs the user to contact Human Resources to add it.
If VPO is opened and left idle in the browser, the VPO session times out. A message will display to instruct the user to log out and then log in to VPO again.
