Aesop Budget Unit and Account Code Mask
This option can be used to assign the substitute's budget unit and account using masking including wildcards.
For each record in the Aesop interface file, the interface program looks for whether the absent teacher's pay code has a matching entry in the Account Code Mask table. If one is found, the interface starts with the absent teacher's distribution and applies the mask from the mask table to build the substitute's Budget Unit and Account Code. If the teacher has multiple distributions, the substitute will also have multiple distributions, and multiple entries are created in the Attendance (attend) table, one for each distribution.
The following table describes the fields on the Aesop Budget Unit and Account Code Mask page.
Field Name | Type | Usage / Processing | Example |
---|---|---|---|
Teacher Pay Code | CHAR(4) | Enter the absentee Pay Code from the Aesop Pay Code Crosswalk or, if numeric, from the Aesop file. | 005 |
Budget unit override | CHAR(16) | Enter the budget unit mask | 1234%%% |
Account override | CHAR(8) | Enter the account mask | 123? |
A separate entry must be set up for each pay code that would need a mask.
When adding reference table entries, the program will ensure that there is at least one valid expenditure ledger record that meets the masking rules.
If no entry is set up in mask table, the substitute's budget unit and account code will be left blank for the default distribution.
Example: When the mask is applied, the value in any position that is not "?" or "%" would replace the corresponding position in the absent teachers' budget unit and account code to build the substitute's budget unit and account code. In the example below, the "999" in the budget unit and account would be replaced with "123". The numbers in all other positions would not be changed.
