SSO Identifiers

There are two ways you can add global users for Single Sign On (SSO):

  • Export and import users for SSO
  • Add single global users
It is recommended to update SSO Identifiers in bulk when adding multiple users.

SSO Export

Use this option to export global IDs in a single bulk run.

  1. From the System Administration menu, select Administration. From the Security menu, select SSO Export.
  2. Select one of the following options:
    • Users
    • Employees
    • Both
  3. Select Include SSN, if required.
  4. Click Export Users. The report's default file name is Export.csv.

Import Global Users

Use this option to import Global IDs for users and employees in a single bulk run after the SSO Export function has been run.

If using SIS Integration with the application, first import employees in the application, then the system will send these employees to PowerSchool SIS.
  1. From the System Administration menu, select Administration. From the Security menu, select Import Global Users.
  2. Select Click to upload a file, choose a valid file type, then click Load.
  3. In the Import File Data panel, do one of the following:
    • Select individual columns and click Set Column Titles.
    • Select Reset Column Titles to remove the column titles you have set.
    • Click Select All to choose all the rows from the file, or follow the Instructions to select individual rows or a range.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Map columns with the corresponding table fields, then click Next.
  6. Select Do not save mapping. Click Finish.
  7. Click Yes to confirm.

Add a Single User

  1. From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Information.
  2. Enter criteria to identify the employee, then click Search.
  3. Double-click the employee record to open the detail page.
  4. In the General tab, enter the SSO Identifier for the employee.
  5. Click Accept.

Clear SSO Identifier

Use this option to clear the SSO Identifiers for all users.

This removes all Global-to-Local-User-Mapping for all users except yours and cannot be reversed.
  1. From the System Administration menu, select Administration. From the Security menu, select Clear SSO Identifier.
  2. Click Yes to confirm.
