Depreciation Procedures

Use the Asset Depreciation page to depreciate one or more assets and generate a related report. Access this page by clicking the Depreciate item in the Asset Information page.

1. Depreciation Options:

   • Calculate Project - Calculates projected depreciation without posting the results.

   • Retro Depreciation - Calculates and posts depreciation retroactively for assets acquired in previous years.

   • Post Depreciation -  Calculates and posts depreciation for fixed assets as often as once each month, depending on the schedule set by your organization.

2. Report Options:

   • Detail Report -  Lists the department, category, Asset ID, description, asset life and method of depreciation, initial cost, year-to-date depreciation, and depreciation accumulated to date for all assets processed.

   • Summary Report -  Shows only the totals of initial cost, year-to-date depreciation, and depreciation accumulated to date for each department and for each category within each department.
