Employee Benefits - Setup Procedures
The option mentioned in the following steps are accessed from the Benefits > Reference Tables > Benefits menu.
Use the Benefit Codes option to copy benefit records from the Deduction table in Human Resources to the Benefit Codes table in Employee Benefits. As part of the process, you can assign values to each record's Group Number, Policy Number, Beneficiary Required, and COBRA Cost fields. Keep in mind that to add a benefit to this table, a corresponding record must be entered in Human Resources' Deduction table.
For details, refer to Benefit Codes Table.Use the Notifications Types Table option to set up codes referencing the different types of notices sent to employees regarding their benefits.
For details, refer to Notification Types Table.Use the Qualifying Events Table option to set up codes referencing events that affect employee and dependent eligibility for COBRA benefits. Examples of these events include marriage, birth of a child, or reaching a certain age.
