Recommending an Applicant for Hire (Internal Applicant)

  1. Once the Closing Date on the job posting has past and any necessary verifications have been completed by Human Resources staff members, hiring managers have the opportunity to review the pool of applicants, interview applicants, disposition applicants, and recommend an applicant for hire. Procedures for this process will vary for every organization using the Recruitment module. These procedures are designed to give you an idea how one organization may use the Recruitment modules features for these tasks.

  2. The hiring manager will review the applicant pool by accessing Human Resources > Entry & Processing > Recruitment > Posting Requisition Overview and locating the job posting.

  3. For the job posting, the hiring manager will click the Applicant icon in the View Pool column. This will display the Posting Review page. This page lists all the applicants that have applied to a job posting where the application has a status other than Pending or Submitted.

  4. To access the Applicant Review page, the hiring manager will click the applicant link. On this page, the hiring manager can review the application for the job posting.

  5. If the hiring manager wants to interview the applicant, they will open the Interview section, select the box for Selected for Interview, and click Submit Interview(s). This will email staff responsible for scheduling the interviews between your organization and applicants.

  6. After the interview is complete, the hiring manager can access the Interview section, click Add Interview, and record the date the interview occurred, who performed the interview, what round the interview was, the score, the status, and any other comments. When that information is recorded, the hiring manager will click Submit Interview(s) to save. This will set the application status for the job posting for the applicant to Interview.

  7. For applicants that are not chosen for the position, but require a reason why they are not being hired, the hiring manager will access the Disposition section. In this section, the hiring manager will select the reasons why the applicant is not being hired. They can also enter additional comments. To save the disposition reasons, the hiring manager will click Submit Disposition. This will set the application status for the job posting for the applicant as Not Selected.

  8. For the applicant that is chosen for the position, the hiring manager will access the Recommendation To Hire section and select the box for Recommend to Hire.
For additional information, the hiring manager could also indicate the date that the offer was extended to the applicant, the date the offer was accepted, and the official start date. Once this information is complete, the hiring manager will click Submit Recommendation. This will set the application status for the job posting for the applicant as Recommended for Hire. This will also send an email to the appropriate staff that the applicant accepted the position, that an official start date has been determined, and that the applicant is recommended for hire.
