Course Action Items
When an instructor submits a course in Professional Development, it must be approved. The Courses search page provides Action Bar items to approving or denying courses.
Approval changes a course's status from IN - Inactive to AC - Active. When a course's status is Active:
Participants can view and register for the course.
Instructors can edit course details, attendance, grades, and related information.
Additional items are available on the page's Action Bar for copying a course to create a new course record and for moving completed courses to Continuing Education.

Action Bar Items
The Courses page's Action Bar displays the following items after you perform a search:
Copy Displays the Courses detail page, which defaults information from the course selected. You can then edit this information and save the course as a new course. Note that except for its title, the Courses detail page is the same as the Course detail page, which is used to add and update courses.
Approve Changes the course's status to AC - Active. This status enables participants to view and register for a course, depending on the course's other settings.
Deny Denies a course. The administrator can add a Denial Comment that will be included in the email to the instructor notifying them of the denial. Denying a course deletes the course from your database.
Move to Continuing Ed Moves a completed course to Continuing Education. For details, refer to Moving Professional Development Courses.
Copying courses
Select Human Resources > Entry & Processing > Professional Development > Courses to display the Courses search page.
Enter search criteria to locate the course to copy, and then click Find.
Select the course, and then click Copy on the Action Bar.
The Courses detail page displays information from the copied course.Edit the fields as needed. For field descriptions, refer to Course Entry.
Click OK to save the new course.
Approving courses
Select Human Resources > Entry & Processing > Professional Development > Courses to display the Courses page.
Enter search criteria to locate the course to approve, and then click Find.
Select the course, and then click Approve on the Action Bar.
The course status will be updated from IN - Inactive to AC - Active. An email will be sent to the instructor notifying them of the approval, depending on the Workflow Configuration.
Denying courses
Select Human Resources > Entry & Processing > Professional Development > Courses to display the Courses search page.
Enter search criteria to locate the course to deny, and then click Find.
Select the course, and then click Deny item on the Action Bar.
The Denial Comment page displays.Enter a Denial Comment.
Depending on the Workflow Configuration, the comment will be included in the email to the instructor notifying them of the denial.Click OK.
In the Delete Confirmation dialog, click Yes to deny the course and delete it.
