Posting Notifications
The Posting Notifications link on the Apply menu will display the Posting Notifications page, which allows the applicant to set up notifications for new postings. The applicant can use the checkboxes to configure what notifications they wish to receive when your organization publishes a new job posting to the Recruitment Portal.
The applicant can select Any or specific position types, and further refine their notification by selecting Any or by selecting specific Locations and Certifications areas.
When a new posting is available on the Portal that matches the applicant's posting notification settings, an email is sent to the primary and alternate email addresses listed on the applicant's profile.
The email template used is defined on the Posting Notifications section of Online Presentation & Options.
Following are procedures an applicant will follow for adding or modifying a notification of new postings:
The applicant will access the Posting Notification page by logging in to the Recruitment Portal and clicking on the Posting Notification link in the Apply menu.
The Posting Notification page will display with the currently available notification choices, or if this is the first time the applicant is accessing this page, the Notify me of new postings checkbox.The applicant will select the Notify me of new postings checkbox to receive notifications of new postings. Once the checkbox is selected, the criteria for the notification will display.
In the By Position Type section, the applicant can select the Any Position Type checkbox to receive notification of all new postings regardless of position type or select specific checkboxes to indicate they only want to receive notifications of new postings for selected position types. The options in this section are populated from the Position Types table in the Payroll reference tables.
In the By School/Location section, the applicant can select the Any School/Location checkbox to receive notification of all new postings at any location or select specific checkboxes to indicate they only want to receive notifications of postings for selected locations. The options in this section are populated by the Personnel's Locations table.
In the By Certification Area section, the applicant can select the No Certification Required checkbox to receive notification of any postings that do not require certifications, the Any Certification Area checkbox to receive notifications of postings that have any certification requirements, or select specific checkboxes to indicate they only want to receive notifications of new postings with the selected certification areas. The options in this section are populated from the Certification Areas table in the Personnel reference tables.
Once the applicant has selected the criteria for the notifications they wish to receive, they will click Save to save the configuration. The applicant can click Cancel to undo any changes made since the last save.
The applicant will then receive notifications based on the criteria selected on the Posting Notification page. The posting must fulfill all the selections in order for the applicant to be notified.
For example, if an applicant has selected to receive notification of Any Position Type, but selected a specific location in the By School/Location section, they will receive notification for all position types associated with that specific location. If an applicant has selected to receive notification only of a specific position type and a specific location, they will only receive notifications of new job postings for that position type in that location.
