Certifications/Licenses Page

Use this page to document the employees' certifications, endorsements, licenses, and other credentials of the employees. In the Certifications section, you can enter the serial number, issue, expiry, and registration dates, certificate type, and subject area. You can set one of the certifications as primary. You can add up to 15 certifications for an employee.

In the Non-Teaching Licenses section, you can enter the license type, license number, state, and issue and expiry dates.

Apart from general information purposes, the Certification/Licenses information applies to Highly Qualified Teacher requirements.

Menu Path

From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Information. On the Employee Information page, search for and select an employee record. From the action bar, select Personnel Information, then Certifications/Licenses.

Field

Description

Number

You must enter the registration or serial number of the certification. If the registration or serial number is unavailable, you can enter the certification title. 

The limit is 15 characters.

Issued

Enter or select the certification issue date.

Expiration

Enter or select the certification expiry date.

Registration

Enter or select the certification registration date.

Type

Select the certification type code. The values in this field are retrieved from the Certification Type table.

Area

Select the subject area of the certification. The values in this field are retrieved from the Certification Area table.

  • In school districts, the area can refer to an academic subject, such as English or Social Studies, or the educational level, such as elementary or secondary. Other areas could include educational administration, guidance counseling, library science, and school nursing.

  • In municipalities, the area can refer to qualifications related to accounting, public administration, treatment plant operations, environmental protection, public health, recreation, and other municipal functions.

Primary

Select Primary to set a certification as primary, or select Not Primary. The primary certification indicates that it fulfills a prerequisite for the employee’s position.

You can set only one certification as primary.

Non-Teaching Licenses Section

Field

Description

Type

Select the license type code. The values in this field are retrieved from the License Types table.

Issued

Enter or select the license issue date.

Expiration

Enter or select the license expiry date.

License Number

You must enter the identification number of the license.

State

Select the state for which the license was issued.
