Update Request Page
On this page:
Use this page to update requests in your database, including adding new requests, changing header and line item information in requests, deleting line items, or deleting entire request records.
These functions can be performed either in the Update Request page or in the other pages that can be accessed from this page:
- Display the Add New Request page by clicking Add New on the page's toolbar. For details on adding requests, refer to Add New Request Page.
- Display the Change Request page to update a request by searching for and selecting the request, and then clicking OK. For details, refer to the Procedures section below.
- Display additional pages by using the items on the page's Action Bar. For details, refer to the following section on Action Bar Items.

Action Bar Items
Using items on the Update Requests page's Action Bar you can display additional pages for adding and maintaining requests. These items and the pages they access include:
Add Item | Displays the Add New Line Item page, where you can add items to a request. For details, refer to Add New Line Item Page. |
Exception Fill | Displays the Exception Fill page, which enables you to fill requests for individual line items in a request. For details, refer to Exception Fill Page. |
Delete Item | Displays the Delete Request Line Items page, where you can delete individual items in a request. For details, refer to the Procedures section below. |
Print Requests | Displays the Print Requests page, which you can use to print or reprint requests. For details, refer to Print Requests Page. |
Unapprove | Displays the Unapprove Request Line Items page, where you can delete selected line items. For details, refer to the Procedures section below. |
Conditions for Updating Requests
If any of the following conditions are not met, a message will display to indicate that the request selected cannot be changed or deleted.
- You can only change current year requests.
- You can only access line items that are unfilled or have a status of O - Open. You cannot update line items that have a status of A - Approved.
- You cannot delete requests that have approved line items.
Keep in mind that you can use Add Item to add line items to a request, regardless of the status of the request's other line items. However, if your Warehouse Inventory Profile requires approvals, the additional items must be approved before you can fill them.
Following are the procedures for changing data in request records, adding line items to existing requests, deleting line items and entire requests, and "unapproving" individual line items.
Changing request records
- Select Warehouse Inventory > Entry & Processing > Warehouse Inventory > Warehouse Administration to display the Warehouse Administration page.
- Click Requests to display the Update Request page.
- In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button. For details on advanced searches, refer to Inventory Transactions Page.
- In the List section, select a request, and then click OK.
Note
Prior years cannot be updated. - In the Change Request page, update the fields in the Header section as needed.
- To display the request's line items, click OK.
- The system displays all items that are unfilled or have a status of O - Open.
- In the Line Item section, update items as needed. For details on individual fields, refer to the Fields section in the Add New Request Page.
- You cannot delete a line item in the Change Request page, but you can replace one by changing the code in the Stock Number field.
- Click OK to save the record.
Depending on the Continuous checkbox in the Header section:- If the checkbox is selected, the system displays the next request from the List section in the Update Request page. Repeat Steps 5-8 to update the request, or click OK to advance to the next request in the list. To return to the Update Request page at any point, click Back.
- If the checkbox is not selected, you return to the Update Request page.
Adding line items to existing requests
- Select Warehouse Inventory > Entry & Processing > Warehouse Inventory > Warehouse Administration to display the Warehouse Administration page.
- Click Requests to display the Update Request page.
- In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button. For details on advanced searches, refer to Inventory Transactions Page.
- In the List section, select the request, and then click Add Item on the Action Bar to display the Add New Line Item page.
- The fields in the page's Header section are display only.
- The Line Item section begins its listing with a blank line for adding a new item. For example, if a request has five existing line items, the Line Item section will display a blank line for adding Item 6, plus additional lines for adding up to a total of 99 line items.
- To add a line item, enter a Stock Number, and complete the line's additional fields. For details, refer to the Fields section below.
- Repeat Step 4 for each additional line item.
- Click OK to save the record and return to the Update Requests page.
Deleting selected line items in requests
- Select Warehouse Inventory > Entry & Processing > Warehouse Inventory > Warehouse Administration to display the Warehouse Administration page.
- Click Requests to display the Update Request page.
- In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button.
- In the List section, select the request, and then click Delete Item on the Action Bar to display the Delete Request Line Items page.
- You can only access requests from the current fiscal year.
- You can only access line items that are unfilled or have a status of O - Open. If no line items meet this criteria, a dialog displays indicating there are no items to delete.
- In the Line Item section, select the Delete checkbox for each item to delete.
- When you finish selecting line items, click OK.
- In the Delete Confirmation dialog, click Yes to delete the line items and return to the Update Request page.
Deleting requests
- Select Warehouse Inventory > Entry & Processing > Warehouse Inventory > Warehouse Administration to display the Warehouse Administration page.
- Click Requests to display the Update Request page.
- In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button.
- In the List section, select the request to delete.
- Click Delete.
- In the Delete Confirmation dialog, click Yes to delete the request.
"Unapproving" requests
- Select Warehouse Inventory > Entry & Processing > Warehouse Inventory > Warehouse Administration to display the Warehouse Administration page.
- Click Requests to display the Update Request page.
- In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find. To run an advanced search, use the Advanced button.
- In the List section, select the request to delete, and then click Unapprove on the Action Bar.
- The request must have at least one line item that has been approved in Warehouse Inventory's Request Approval Page.
- In the Unapprove Request Line Items page, select the Unapprove checkbox for each line item being unapproved.
- Click OK to remove the line item from the request and return to the Update Request page.
Note
Unlike other delete procedures, this will not display a Confirmation dialog to ask if you are ready to remove, or 'unapprove' the request. Be sure you are ready to remove the item before completing the procedure.
