History Tab

This tab stores the three most recent job classes and salary increases associated with the employee's primary pay rate. This includes the dates of each change in job class or salary.

The History group on the Action Bar's Detail tab provides access to pages showing the history of the employee regarding employment status, pay rates, pay checks, and positions. You can also access an activity page that lists all changes to the employee's records and identifies the operators who made them.

Menu Path:  Human Resources > Entry & Processing > Employee > Employee Information > search for and select an employee > click OK to display the Employee Information detail page > open the History tab

Tab Sections

The History tab includes the following sections:

Job Class History

Displays the employee's three most recent job classes, including the current job class.

Increase History

Documents the employee's three most recent salary increases.

Both sections list the dates of the changes, which apply only to the employee's primary pay rate.

Additional Employee History Pages

Following are descriptions of additional pages that store employee history records. These pages can be accessed from the History group on the Employee Information page's Action Bar.

Check History Page

Lists all paychecks issued to the employee, including an itemization of deduction and tax withholdings.

Employee Activity Page

Tracks all additions, changes, and deletions affecting the employee's records. Also included are the user IDs of the operators who processed the records.

Pay Rate History Page

Tracks changes to the employee's job classes, salaries, and effective dates. It also lists the users who made the changes.

Employee Information - Position History Page

Lists the positions the employee has held that are under Position Control.

Status History Page

Displays the employee's current and past status codes, as well as the dates associated with each.

Fields

Job Class History Section

This section shows the job classes for the employee's three most recent primary rates.

Field

Description

Current

Code identifying the job class of the employee's current position, as defined in the Job Class Table.

Prior 1 Class

Code identifying the job class of the employee's previous position.

Prior 2 Class

Code identifying the job class of the employee's second last position.

Date

Date when the change occurred.

Increase History Section

This section stores the history of the employee's three most recent salary increases.

Field

Description

Percentage Increase

Percentages of the last three salary changes in the employee's primary rates, expressed as decimals (100% = 1.0000). The system does not consider a new primary rate as an increase. It only records changes made to a rate's Salary field.

Changes to the data stored in the Percentage Increase fields can be made either by changing a field directly or by making a related change elsewhere in the software, for example by assigning a new salary schedule or by increasing the salary through the Employee Benefits System.

Date of Increase

Date when the increase took effect.
