Migration Considerations

What happens during the upgrade

When the database update runs:

1. New tables are created.

2. Legacy position data is migrated to the new tables.

3. Legacy tables are preserved but are no longer actively used by the application.

4. Indexes are created on the new tables.

Post-upgrade verification steps

After upgrading to 25.7, perform the following verification:

1. Verify that Position Control is set to the correct mode (T or Y) on the Human Resources Profile page.

2. Search for positions and confirm that the list of positions displays correctly.

3. Open several position detail records and verify that the data migrated correctly.

4. Run the Status Detail and Status Summary reports, and compare them with the pre-upgrade reports.

5. Verify that occupant data is correctly associated with positions.

6. Test the change request and employee transfer features if workflow is enabled.

7. Verify that attachment groups migrated correctly (legacy groups are mapped to POSITION_CONTROL). Verify that the following attachment groups were renamed:

   • POSITION renamed to POSITION_LEGACY

   • POSITION_RM renamed to POSITION_RM_LEGACY
