PowerSchool ERP Payroll and Human Resources

New Features in 25.7

Position Change Requests

A formal process for requesting changes to positions. Change requests support 14 change types. Each request can be routed through an approval workflow before the change is applied.

Employee Position Transfer

A structured process for transferring employees between positions. Transfers capture the current position, the new position, the effective date, and the replacement employee. Transfers support approval workflow routing and the creation of future pay rates.

Position Requisitions

A structured process for requesting to fill open or new positions. A Position Requisition captures the job class, position, shift type, reason for filling, hiring manager, salary range, and internal and external posting dates. Requisitions can be routed through an Advanced Workflow approval process before posting to an Applicant Tracking System. Canceling an approved requisition decrements the Posted FTE on the associated position in Position Control.

Advanced Workflow integration

Position Change Requests and Employee Position Transfers can be routed through the Advanced Workflow service for multi-level approval. This integration uses the same workflow infrastructure as Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and other PowerSchool ERP workflow types.

The position search includes an as-of-date field that controls which effective-dated version of each position is displayed. This allows users to view positions at any point in time.

Position deletion

Authorized users can delete positions (single or bulk) with validation checks for linked requisitions, FTE occupancy, and position status.

Enhanced attachments and notes

Positions support file attachments through the POSITION_CONTROL attachment group.

Dashboard workflow components

Position Change Request approvals, Employee Position Transfer approvals, and Position Requisition approvals are available on the Workflow Approvals page in the dashboard, with bulk approval support (up to 25 items).
