Disclaimers

Use this selection on the Administration menu to set up disclaimers for the pages in Employee Access Center. Disclaimers can include special instructions, warning, and other messages for assisting EAC users.

You can override the default titles of EAC's pages using the Profile's Titles Setup category, which also allows you to hide EAC pages. For details, refer to Titles Setup.

Adding disclaimers to EAC's user pages

  1. Select Disclaimers from the Administration menu.
  2. To enter a disclaimer, click Edit for the page or disclaimer type indicated.
  3. In the text box that displays, enter the disclaimer message.
For additional instructions on setting up disclaimers, refer to the next section, Using HTML Commands in Messages.
  4. Click Save.

Using HTML Commands in Messages

You can use plain text for simple disclaimers. To start a new line or paragraph without a line in between, press <Enter> at the end of a header or block of text.

If you want to include special formatting in certain messages, you can insert basic HyperText Markup Language (HTML) commands in your text. For example, you could set up a bold headline for a message, skip a line, and provide a text paragraph as follows:

< b >Your Message Here< /b >< br >This is the text paragraph that will appear below the headline.

The < b > and < /b > commands turn bold on and off, while the < br > command provides a forced line break resulting in the blank line. The result:

Your Message Here

This is the text paragraph that will appear below the headline.

Other HTML commands you can use include:

  • Heading commands - < h1 > creates very large bold headers, while <h6> creates very small ones.
  • Italic command - < i > displays text in italics.
  • Underline command - < u > places an underline beneath text.
  • List command - < li > lists one item per line, single spaced.
  • Paragraph command - < p > starts a new paragraph with a blank line above it.

Remember to turn off commands by inserting the / slash symbol in front of the command in brackets, for example, < /h1 > to turn off a header or < /I > to turn off italics.
