Configure Human Resources - Job Classes

Configure Human Resources job classes on the Job Class page.

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources.

  2. Select Reference Tables.

  3. From the Payroll menu, select Job Classes.

  4. Enter the Search Criteria to find the required records, and then select Search.
    Refer to Search for records for more information.

    • To add a record, select Add new. Refer to the Field descriptions, enter valid information, and select Accept.

    • To edit a record, select the record and select Accept. Update the information and select Accept.

    • To delete, select the record and select Delete. Select Yes.

    • To generate a report:

      • Select Print and then select:

        • Print to include all the information in the Job Classes table.

        • Defaults to include only the defaults in the Job Classes table.

      • Select Accept and then select a Destination:

        • Select File to create the report in .rpt format. The default file name is jobclass.rpt. You can change the default file name.

        • Select Screen to download the report in .pdf format. The default file name is jobclass_<#####>.pdf.

        • Select Excel to download the report in .xlsx format. Select the required Excel Options. The default file name is jobclassrpt<####_#####>.xlsx.

        • Select OK.

          • Download the .rpt file from the View Files page.

          • Save the .pdf or .xlsx file.

Position Type

Optional.

If set, it establishes the default position type for all positions in this job class.

Position type synchronization behavior

When the Position Type is changed on a job class that has existing positions, the system prompts with three options:

  • Update all positions with the new position type: updates the position type for all positions in this job class.

  • Update only the positions that contain the previous position type: updates only positions whose current position type matches the old value.

  • Do not update any positions: leaves existing positions unchanged.
