Position Control provides several pages for linking Highly Qualified Teacher requirements to positions. This topic provides information on how to access these pages and the procedures for updating Highly Qualified Teacher records in Position Control.
Highly Qualified Teacher tracking was required under NCLB, which ESSA replaced in December 2015. Districts are no longer required by federal law to track or report HQT status. This functionality is retained for districts that have state-level mandates or internal policies requiring HQT recordkeeping.
Action buttons

On the Position Detail page accessed from the Position Control page, the action buttons are displayed based on the Position Status and Approval Status of the record. The position must be Active with an As of Date on or after today, or have a status of In Progress.

On the Edit Batch Position page accessed from the Batch Position Control page, the action buttons are displayed for all records.
