Before configuring Position Control 25.7, Calendar Cycles must be configured before the fiscal year rollover process if calendar-cycle-based effective dates are needed.
Create New Year Positions uses the fiscal year start date when no applicable calendar-cycle effective date is found. If a mapped calendar-cycle effective date exists but is before fiscal start (including 01/01/1900), that position is skipped.
Calendar cycles are assigned to calendars using the Calendar Cycle field on the Calendars page. The calendar is then assigned to a Future Job Class using the Calendar Type field on the Future Job Classes page.

Set calendar cycle effective dates to align with your fiscal year start dates. The effective date must be on or after the fiscal start date for positions to be rolled.

If a calendar cycle has no effective date set, the effective date becomes 01/01/1900 and is treated as invalid. Explicitly setting the effective date is recommended for predictability.

Verify calendar cycle associations before running the Create New Year Positions process. Positions are skipped when the calendar cycle effective date is before the fiscal year start date.
