Configure Highly Qualified Teacher Tracking for Position Control - Qualifications

Prerequisites

Position Detail page

To link qualifications to positions on the Position Detail page, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Ensure that at least one qualification code is set up on the Qualification Code Setup page.

  • The user must have security function 357 assigned.

Additionally, these operational conditions must be met before the Qualifications action button is visible:

  • The position must already be saved. The button is hidden when adding a new position; however, when you select Save, a wizard launches and takes you through the pages to link qualifications, certifications, requirements, and degrees to positions.

  • The position must be Active with an As of Date on or after today, or have a status of In Progress. The button is hidden for Closed and Inactive positions (except read-only access for Denied or Canceled approval statuses).

Edit Batch Position page

To link qualifications to positions on the Edit Batch Position page, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Ensure that Position Control is enabled. On the Human Resources Profile page, ensure that one of the following is selected in the Position Control field:

    • Y - Use Position Control

    • T - Tracking Mode
      The Batch Position Control program checks this at startup and exits if it is not enabled.

  • Ensure that at least one qualification code is set up on the Qualification Code Setup page.

Additionally, this operational condition must be met before the Qualifications action button is visible:

A batch position must already be saved. The Qualifications action button is only available in change mode for an existing batch position record. It is not present when adding a new batch position; however, when you select Save, a wizard launches and takes you through the pages to link qualifications, certifications, requirements, and degrees to positions.

Unlike the Position Control page, the Batch Position Control page does not apply the separate 357 security flag to gate the Qualifications action button. Access is controlled solely by the user's permission to run the Batch Position Control program itself.
