Application and System Errors

The following table lists the application and system error messages that may appear while using Position Control 25.7 and explains how to resolve them.

Error message	Description	Resolution
Cannot connect to database	The application cannot establish a database connection.	Verify the database server is running. Check the connection string and network connectivity.
Security access denied!	The user does not have the required security resource.	Assign the appropriate security resource to the user on the User Access page.
Position Control is not enabled in your system. Please contact your system administrator to enable Position Control in Human Resources Profile - System Options.	Position Control is set to N - Do Not Use Position Control on the Human Resources Profile page.	On the Human Resources Profile page, set Position Control to either of the following: T - Tracking Mode Y - Use Position Control
Error in retrieving workflow tabs	The Workflow Approvals page could not load workflow type tabs.	Verify workflow service connectivity. Refresh the page.
Error in retrieving location codes and jobclass types	The approval page could not load reference data.	Verify database connectivity. Confirm that location codes and job classes are configured.
Error in retrieving position change request codes	The Position Change Request approval page could not load reference data.	Verify database connectivity.
User not mapped to the employee	The system could not identify the logged-in user's employee record.	Verify the user-to-employee mapping in the security configuration.
User does not have access to this request	The user does not have the security resource required to view this request.	Review security resource assignments.
This request has already been actioned by another approver.	Another approver has already taken action on this request.	Refresh the page. No further action is required.
