Position Control Reference Tables

Reference Tables

The following tables interact with the position control system.

Position Types

Human Resource > Reference Tables > Human Resources > Position Types

  • Use this option to identify the Types of Positions. Users can search for positions using the following criteria:

    • Position Type Code

    • Title

    • Description

    • Certified Position

  • Once generated, users can export a copy of all positions rendered by the search by selecting the print icon.

    • Options to export as an Excel document or PDF are available.

New Table Calendar Cycles

Path: Human Resources > Reference Tables > Calendar Cycles

This table is attached to Calendars. It is used to set the effective date on the Position and Future Pay Rates when Personnel Budgeting Position and Pay Rates are posted to HR. e.g. 10 Month, 11 Month and 12 Month cycles.

Calendars

Path: Human Resources > Reference Tables > Calendars

Set up the calendar for the new year. This has the Start and End dates (work dates), Pay Start Date, Pay End Date, and number of days. Attach the Calendar Cycle if applicable. Calendars are attached to Job Classes.

Salary Schedules

Path: Human Resources > Reference Tables > Salary Schedules

Setup the salary schedule for the new year. This includes Max steps, Max Ranges, Contract Days per Year, and Hours Worked Per Day. Salary Schedules are attached to Job Classes.

Job Classes

Path: Human Resources > Reference Tables > Payroll > Job Classes

If there is not a job class to link a position to, that will need to be created first with the applicable Calendar and Schedule. You can have multiple positions attached to a job class, but only one job class per position.

Future Salary Schedule

Path: Human Resources > Reference Table > Future Changes > Salary Schedules

Create the future Salary Schedules. When ready to post, enter search criteria. Once you have the list of Salary Schedules to post, select Post from the Action bar.


Future Job Class

Path: Human Resources > Reference Table > Future Changes > Future Job Class

If the job class entered exists in the current job class table, all of the current job class fields are loaded into the future job class fields. Enter a Control Number (e.g. 060325) and the Effective date. Update the salary schedule and any other fields that will change for the new year. When ready to post, select Post from the Action bar. Enter the control number and effective date to post Job Class records with the same control number and the same or earlier effective date to the Job Classes table. Alternatively, you can Export the Job Class table to Excel, modify the Calendar, Schedule, and other details, and Then Import it back into the Import area of the Human Resource Reference Table.

Future Additional Duty Codes

Path: Human Resources > Reference Table >Future Changes > Future Additional Duty

Create the Future Additional Duty codes with a Control number and an Effective date. When ready to post, select Post from the Action bar. Enter the control number and effective date to post Additional Duty records with the same control number and the same or earlier effective date to the Additional Duty Codes table.
