Use the Termination Request page to submit, track, and approve employee termination requests through a workflow-based approval process. This web-based form is used instead of the standard Terminate Employee page when Workflow is enabled. This form allows a requester to enter the termination status, termination code, last date to pay, last day worked, and notes, then submit the request for approval. The request follows the configured approval chain, and once fully approved, the termination is posted to the employee's record. Requests can also be denied, canceled, or returned for correction.
Unlike the standard Terminate Employee page, which updates the employee record directly upon acceptance, the Termination Request page stores the pending termination in the termempl table and requires one or more approvals before the termination takes effect. Approval status is tracked with values such as Open, Partially Approved, Approved, Denied, Canceled, Posted, Posted With Error, and Needs Correction. Email notifications are sent to approvers and the requester at each stage of the workflow.
Submitted and historical requests can be viewed using the e-Form History feature on the History tab of the Employee Information page.
Menu path
From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Information. On the Employee Information page, search for and select an employee record. On the action bar, select Action, then Terminate.
