Use the Registers page to set up registers in various configurations and identify them by location or primary user. Each register has its own record that indicates if it has a cash drawer, printer, scanner, or pole display, and if it has bill validation and check endorsement capabilities. For details, refer to the Fields section below.
Action Bar Item
The following item displays on the Action Bar:

Allows the user to search for records based on criteria entered in the page's fields. |
Add Registers

Select the Registers page.

Complete the fields in the Register Information and Tabs sections.

Click OK.
Update Registers

Select the Registers page.

Click Query on the Action Bar.

In the Register Information section, enter criteria in the fields to search for, and click OK.

Use the Next, Previous, First, and Last buttons on the Action Bar to display the register results.

Locate the desired register record and click OK.

Update the fields in the Register Information section as needed.

Select the desired tab to update, click OK, and update the fields as needed.

Click Back to navigate through the tabs. Clicking Back again will return you to the initial results.

When finished, click OK.
Delete a Register

Select the Registers page.

Click Query on the Action Bar.

In the Register Information section, enter criteria in the fields to search for, and click OK.

Use the Next, Previous, First, and Last buttons on the Action Bar to display the register results.

When the desired record is found, click Delete.
Generate Register Reports

Select the Registers page.
-
Click Print.
-
In the Print window, specify how you want to generate the report and click OK. The report's default file name is rmregister.rpt.
Fields
Register Information Section
These fields are used for both adding registers and searching for registers.

Register Number |
Two-digit number to identify the register. 99 is reserved for web payments in the eGovPLUS application. This can be changed in the Cash Receipts Profile. |

Status |
Status of the register. A register must have the status of Active for receipts to be entered. |

Password |
Enter a password for the register that must be entered for users to gain access to the register. Optional. Character/8 |

Re-type Password |
Re-enter the optional password. Character/8 |
|
Default Receipt Printer |
Location of the printer that receipts will print from by default. Character/15 |
Tabs Section
Use the different tabs in this section to define the details of the register's capabilities. The American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) escape sequences can be used in these fields.

Cash Drawer |
Check the box if the register has a cash drawer attached to it. When selected, enter the ASCII sequences to open the cash drawer on the top row, and then the corresponding ASCII sequences to close the cash drawer on the bottom row. |

Receipt Printer |
Check the box if the register has a receipt printer. When checked, select the maximum character width for the receipt. Enter ASCII values in the On and Off fields to enable and disable, respectively, the receipt printer. |

Bill Validate |
Use this tab if the receipt printer can validate bills and checks. Select the receipt validation:
Enter the Width and Lines. Lines are only available for slip validation. Enter ASCII values in the On and Off fields to enable and disable, respectively, the validation printer. |

Check Endorse |
Check the box if the register allows endorsement capabilities. In the Width field, select the maximum character width for the endorsements. In the Lines field, enter the number of endorsement lines per check. Enter ASCII values in the On and Off fields to enable and disable, respectively, the check endorsement printer. |

Scanner |
Use this tab to indicate what type of scanning capability the register has. No escape sequences are needed. Select the register scanning capability:
Enter ASCII values in the On and Off fields to enable and disable, respectively, the scanning device. |

Pole Display |
Check the box if the register has a pole display. Enter ASCII values in the On and Off fields to turn on or turn off, respectively, the display. |
