The Employee Leave Request workflow allows employees at your organization to initiate leave requests which, after approval, will interface with Attendance or Employee Timesheets.
To use the Employee Leave Request e-Form, you must link pay codes that are used in Attendance and Employee Timesheets to the leave codes. This link is completed on the Linked Pay Codes page accessed using the Pay Codes button on the Leave Table page.
Menu Path
From the eForms & Tools menu, select All. From the e-Forms menu, select Employee Leave Request.
From Employee Access Center, select Employee Tasks, then Leave Information, then Leave Requests.
Action Bar Items

Link Pay Codes to Leave Codes on the Leave Table

From the Human Resources menu, select Reference Tables. From the Payroll menu, select Leave Codes.

In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Search. To run an advanced search, click Advanced Search.

In the List section, select the desired record, and then click OK.

In the Leave Data section, click Pay Codes to display the Linked Pay Codes page.

In the Related Pay Codes section, select the Pay Code from the drop-down list to be linked to the leave code. For details, refer to the Fields and Descriptions section of this page.
After a Pay Code is selected, a new row displays for additional Pay Code selections. Add as many as needed, then click OK. -
If you want to link more pay codes to leave codes in the List section, select the Continuous checkbox, and then click OK to select the next leave code in the List section.

Repeat previous steps for all desired records.

Click Back.
Generate the Pay Codes Associated with Leave report

From the Human Resources menu, select Reference Tables. From the Payroll menu, select Leave Codes.

In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Search. To run an advanced search, click Advanced Search.

From the action bar, click Print Pay Codes.

In the Print window, specify how you want to generate the report, and then click OK. The report default file name is lvpays.rpt.
Submit an Employee Leave Request

Open the Leave Requests page.

Select the leave type.

Enter the Start Date, End Date, Units/Days/Hours and any notes for the leave request. For details, refer to the Fields and Descriptions section of this page.

Click Save.
Cancel an Employee Leave Request

Open the Leave Requests page.

Click Cancel for the desired leave request.

Click Save.

In the Confirmation dialog, click Yes to cancel the leave request.

Leave Bank Information Section
All fields in this section are display only.

Leave Code |
Code identifying the type of leave on the employee's leave bank, as defined in the Leave table. |

Leave Title |
Title of the leave code, as defined in the Leave Title field of the Leave table. |

Units |
Type of units the leave is tracked in. Values can be Hours, Days or Units. |

Earned YTD |
Leave earned to date during the current year as it appears in the Earned YTD field on the employee's leave bank. |

Taken YTD |
Leave taken to date during the current year as it appears in the Taken YTD field on the employee's leave bank. |

Current Balance |
Unused leave for the current year as it appears in the Balance field on the employee's leave bank. |

Pending Leave |
Requested leave that has not yet been posted to the employee's leave bank. This includes pending leave requests and unposted attendance. |

Pending Balance |
Current available balance that can be taken. (Current Balance – Pending Leave = Pending Balance). |

Leave Type |
Type of leave, as defined in the Check Title field of the Pay Code table. If your organization uses Employee Timesheets and the Pay Title Description is set to A - Alternate Code Description, then the leave type displays from the Pay Code Maintenance Alternate Description. |

Start Date |
Starting date for the requested leave. MM/DD/YYYY. |

End Date |
Ending date for the requested leave. MM/DD/YYYY. |

Units/Hours/Days |
Number of units, hours or days for the leave request. The field is titled Units when the initial leave request is accessed, but may change to Hours or Days based on the leave type selected. This field title change is dependent on the selection in the Leave Units fields of the Leave table. If the Leave Units field is blank on the Leave table, then the value in the Units for Leave identifier of the Leave Setup Category in the Employee Access Center profile. If that profile setting is blank, the field will remain as Units. Employees whose Timecard Required field is set to W - Employee Timesheets on the Payroll Tab will only be allowed to enter two decimals in this field, where all other employees will be allowed to enter four decimals.

Name of the primary approver for the role associated with the leave request. If the leave request was approved, denied or flagged as needing correction by an approver on the role, that person's name would appear in this field. If there is no role in the Role Description field, but a name in this field, this would be the name of the administrator who performed the Restart, Suspend, Resume or Canceled action from the Workflow Administrator option. |

Delegate |
Name of the user who was delegated and processed this leave request during the approver's absence. |

Comments |
Any comments that had been entered by the approver or delegate when processing the approvals for the leave request. In the event that the leave request was canceled, this will display Employee Canceled or Administrator Canceled, based on who canceled it. |
